Route to Lighthouse View
Lighthouse View is located
in the centre of the town of Southwold in the county of Suffolk. Opposite
the house is St James Green, which borders the Sea. To the rear of the cottage
is the Lighthouse and 4 doors away is the Sole Bay Pub. St Edmunds Hall which
hosts Jill Freud’s Southwold Summer Theatre is 100 yards South and it
is within easy reach of the High Street shops (200 yards) and pubs, beach
(20 yards), brewery, St Edmunds Church, museum, the famous greens and the
common.
Southwold is approximately 2 hours NE of London, 1 hour NE of Ipswich, 40 minutes SE of Norwich, and 20 minutes due South of Lowestoft.
Leave the A12 on the A1085 signposted Reydon and Southwold. Follow the road for approximately 3 miles through Reydon until you cross a bridge – this is Buss Creek Bridge on Mights Road. Keep going to the mini roundabout and turn left down Pier Avenue. Follow Pier Avenue to the end and turn right on to North Parade. Follow North Parade parallel to the Sea until you reach a green with a flag pole and cannons (5th turning) where you turn right into St James Green. Lighthouse View is on the right (Blue with a yellow door) before you reach the Sole Bay Pub.
